Hospice Patients Benefit from Caribou Coffee Promotion

During the month of October, Fargo-Moorhead Hornbacher’s Caribou Coffee locations and the 25th Street Caribou location in Fargo participated in the Amy’s Blend promotion that benefited Hospice of the Red River Valley. Patrons purchased and donated more than 200 pounds of Amy’s Blend coffee that will be shared with Hospice patients and their families.

Alex Stern Family Foundation Awards $10,000 Grant to Hospice for Youth Programming

The Alex Stern Family Foundation recently awarded a $10,000 grant to Hospice of the Red River Valley in support of youth grief programming and education. Thank you to the Foundation for their generous support of our youth programming.

Second Graders at Ed Clapp Elementary School Pay it Forward to Hospice

Second Graders from Colleen Kaeding’s class at Ed Clapp Elementary School in Fargo recently voted, as a class, to donate their Bell State Bank Pay it Forward money to Hospice of the Red River Valley. The class elected to donate $500 in support of Hospice. Thank you to all the students for their generous support!

November Lunch and Learn Announced: Advance Care Planning

Lunch and Learn_graphicHospice of the Red River Valley invites health care professionals to its September Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, from noon-1 p.m.

Dr. Tricia Langlois, medical director with Hospice of the Red River Valley, will present “Advance Care Planning: Embrace, Engage, Educate, Empower.

In this session, participants will learn a physician’s role in advance care planning. Attendees will also learn how to help their patients plan for a good life right up until the end.

Hospice of the Red River Valley is an approved provider of continuing education for social workers in North Dakota. This program will be awarded 1 contact hour.

For your convenience, Lunch and Learns will be held in five Hospice of the Red River Valley Office locations:

    • Fargo – 1701 38th Street SW, Fargo, N.D.
    • Detroit Lakes* – 1111 Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, Minn.
    • Grand Forks* – 2860 10th Avenue N., Ste. 400, Grand Forks, N.D.
    • Lisbon* – 415 Main Street, Lisbon, N.D.
    • Valley City* – 1240 W. Main Street, Valley City, N.D.

*The Detroit Lakes, Grand Forks, Lisbon and Valley City office locations will be connected via videoconference to the Fargo office where the live presentation will take place.

This event is free and open to all health care professionals, but pre-registration is required because space is limited. Participants may bring their own lunches; coffee and water will be provided.

Lunch and Learns in 2016 will be held every other month starting in January on the third Tuesday of the month from noon to 1 p.m. Specific topics and descriptions will be shared closer to each date.
