Hospice of the Red River Valley Forms Two New Grief Support Groups in Fargo

Hospice of the Red River Valley announces the formation of two new grief support groups in Fargo.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Group: This is a free ongoing grief support group for anyone who has experienced the death of a baby through pregnancy loss, stillbirth or in the first year of life. The purpose of this group is to provide compassionate grief support, understanding and resources to bereaved parents while allowing them to share their grief in a safe place with others who are experiencing a similar journey. The Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Group will be held will be held at the Hospice of the Red River Valley office located at 1701 38th St. S. in Fargo on the fourth Tuesday of each month, starting on Jan. 26, from 6:30-8 p.m.

Grief Journeys for Men: This is a free ongoing grief support group for men who have experienced a loss through death. Grief Journeys for Men will be held at the Hospice of the Red River Valley office located at 1701 38th St. S. in Fargo on the third Tuesday of each month, starting on Jan. 19, from 6:30-8 p.m.

All support groups offered by Hospice of the Red River Valley are free and open to the public. Hospice of the Red River Valley Names New Executive Director

Hospice of the Red River Valley has named Tracee Capron, RN, BS Edu., MAOL, as its new executive director. 

“Tracee’s experience as a nurse and in leading a hospice care program are a great match for the work, staff and partners of Hospice of the Red River Valley,” said Roberta Young, president of Hospice of the Red River Valley board of directors. “Additionally, she brings a well-rounded skillset and passion for hospice care—competencies critical to moving the organization forward.”

Most recently, Capron served as vice president of care innovations at Community Hospice in Ohio, where she worked to develop community partnerships and implemented consultative services in the health care community, hospitals and nursing homes. Capron holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership, and undergraduate degrees in nursing and education.

 

Border State Bank Employees Raise $3,000 for Hospice of the Red River Valley

Employees of Border State Bank recently raised $3,000 for Hospice of the Red River Valley.

The Thief River Falls branch of Border State Bank has 19 employees who raise money throughout the year through various activities. This is the sixth year Border State Bank has chosen Hospice as the recipient. The donation will be used to provide compassionate end-of-life care to those in Thief River Falls and surrounding communities.

Jessica Porter, Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist at Border State Bank, said they chose Hospice of the Red River Valley as the beneficiary because of the organization’s impact on the Thief River Falls area. “Our community appreciates the kind and caring service provided by Hospice, and we look forward to continuing our fundraising efforts to provide future support,” Porter said.

“We are so appreciative of the continued financial support of Border State Bank and their employees,” said Hospice of the Red River Valley Development Officer Curt Seter. “Their gift will help ensure that Hospice of the Red River Valley will have the resources needed to serve the people of Thief River Falls and the surrounding area now and into the future.”
