Who can receive grief services

Family and Friends of Hospice Patients

Anyone whose loved one has died while under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley can choose to receive bereavement services, free of charge, for up to 13 months after his or her loved one’s death. This may include family, friends and even roommates in a nursing home.

In some cases, a patient is referred to Hospice of the Red River Valley, but dies before beginning services, or shortly after. Hospice of the Red River Valley will still offer grief services to the patient’s family members and loved ones for up to 13 months from the date of death.

General Public

Community members may receive individual visits with a grief specialist at no charge. If an individual needs additional support, our grief specialists can make referrals to community service providers.
