Donating Merchandise

Many individuals donate to Heirlooms because of a change in a family situation, relocation, downsizing, remodeling or redecorating. Businesses that are redecorating or closing have also donated furnishings and store merchandise, and a number of our donations come from families served by Hospice of the Red River Valley who find it meaningful to give back to the organization.

Individuals are encouraged to bring their donations to the store during regular business hours.  Donations may also be accepted by appointment.  If you live within the Fargo-Moorhead area and have items that are too difficult to bring directly to the store, we will arrange for a mover to pick them up at a time that works for both you and the moving company.  There is no cost to you for this service.

Although we cannot assign a value to donated items, all donations to Heirlooms are tax deductible, and you will be given a receipt that may be used for tax purposes.
