If my patient is enrolled in Hospice of the Red River Valley, will I get reimbursed for my patient visits?
Yes. We just need to know that the patient is seeing you, either in your clinic, at the nursing home, or in the hospital, to make sure the claim is billed correctly. As the primary physician you are paid 80% of the Medicare allowable. If you are a consulting physician, or are seeing the patient in the primary physician's absence, you are paid 100% of the Medicare allowable, if the claim is billed through hospice.
