HRRV to Host National Author/Speaker at Free Community Event in Fargo and Grand Forks

As part of the annual Journeying Home Conference, Hospice of the Red River Valley is pleased to offer a free community event. Maggie Callanan, hospice nurse, author and public speaker, will present, “Grieve on: Final Journeys” on Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 7-9 p.m. at Ramada Plaza & Suites, 1635 42nd St. S., in Fargo. New this year, this same event will also be offered in Grand Forks on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 7-9 p.m. at Ramada, 1205 N. 43rd St.

For decades, Maggie Callanan has tended to the terminally ill and supported their loved ones. Join us as Maggie shares the lessons she has learned from the experts—her patients. She will also speak to the special needs of the dying and coping with grief. Addressing medical, personal, emotional and spiritual aspects of life’s final journey, Maggie delivers practical, no-nonsense answers to difficult questions tempered by humor, wisdom and compassion. Maggie is the co-author of “Final Gifts: Understanding the Special Awareness Needs and Communication of the Dying” and author of “Final Journeys: A Practical Guide to Care and Comfort at the End of Life.”

Both events are free and open to the public with no registration required. No continuing education units are available.
