Hospice of the Red River Valley receives $1,000 from Lisbon Community Endowment Fund

Hospice of the Red River Valley has received $1,000 from the Lisbon Community Endowment Fund to support HRRV’s bereavement program. The announcement was made Oct. 15 by Jason Enger, chair of the fund.

Grief support programming is regularly held in communities throughout Hospice of the Red River Valley’s service area. “Grief During the Holidays” and “How to Help a Grieving Friend” were recently held at Armstrong Funeral Home in Lisbon.

Hospice of the Red River Valley also offers a variety of support groups designed to equip attendees with a better understanding of grief and loss, as well as a place to find others who have shared a similar experience.

“We’re honored by the continued support of the Lisbon Community Endowment Fund,” said Curt Seter, development officer with Hospice of the Red River Valley. “We are committed to making educational and support opportunities available to residents in Lisbon and the surrounding areas.”

Hospice of the Red River Valley has received $15,050 in support from the Lisbon Community Endowment Fund since 2000. The fund, established in 1981, is a general charitable vehicle that exists to improve the quality of life for residents in Ransom County. A committee of local citizens is responsible for local fundraising and funding decisions.

Hospice of the Red River Valley opened its Lisbon office location in 1996 and began serving Ransom, Sargent, LaMoure and Dickey counties.
