Fourth Annual Eagles Tree Walk Raises More Than $4,800 for Hospice of the Red River Valley

2018 Tree Walk collageThe Fourth Annual Eagles Tree Walk, held at the Eagles Club #2368 in Thief River Falls, Minn., on Dec. 1, raised $4,809 for Hospice of the Red River Valley. The donation will be used to provide compassionate end-of-life care and support to those in Thief River Falls and the surrounding communities.

“Everyone at Hospice of the Red River Valley is so grateful to the community of Thief River Falls and the surrounding areas for their generous support of our organization,” said Erin Hagen, development officer at Hospice of the Red River Valley. “We’re honored to be part of this wonderful event that brings the community together.”

The event featured beautifully decorated trees and a variety of activities, including a tree walk, holiday bake sale, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, a soup and breadstick feed and memorial ceremony.

More than 30 organizations participated in the tree-decorating event. Attendees could vote for their favorite tree placing donations in a container at each tree. The top three fundraiser trees were decorated by St. Bernard’s School, St. John Lutheran School and the supplier pricing department at Digi-Key Electronics. The trees were then offered to bidders via silent auction, and the Digi-Key tree earned the highest bid.

The Tree Walk has raised nearly $15,000 for Hospice of the Red River Valley.
