The Fifth Annual Eagles Tree Walk, held at the Eagles Club #2368 in Thief River Falls, Minn., on Dec. 7, raised $6,500 for Hospice of the Red River Valley. The donation will be used to provide compassionate end-of-life care and support to those in Thief River Falls and the surrounding communities.

The event featured beautifully decorated trees and a variety of activities, including a tree walk, holiday bake sale, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, a soup and breadstick feed and memorial ceremony.

“We were very happy to exceed last year’s amount,” said Laurie Harger, Tree Walk organizer. “I would like to recognize Walmart for the Hospice memorial tree donation and the decorations throughout the venue. We can’t thank them, and all of the Tree Walk supporters, enough.”

Approximately 20 organizations participated in the tree-decorating event. Attendees could vote for their favorite tree placing donations in a container at each tree. The top fundraiser tree was the In Memory/Minnesota Tree. All trees were then offered to bidders via silent auction, and the Digi-Key Electronics tree earned the highest bid.

“Everyone at Hospice of the Red River Valley is so grateful to the community of Thief River Falls and the surrounding areas for their generous support of our organization,” said Erin Hagen, development officer at Hospice of the Red River Valley. “We’re honored to be part of this wonderful event that brings the community together.”

The Tree Walk has raised more than $21,500 for Hospice of the Red River Valley.
