CANCELED–Being Mortal Free Film Screening & Discussion (Twin Valley)

May 21, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) recommended mitigation strategies, this event has been canceled.

Older adults and persons with severe underlying health conditions are considered to be at increased risk of more serious illness after contracting COVID-19. We want to be sure we are doing what we can to ensure the safety of these groups of people. Since many of our community event attendees are included in these populations, we feel it is in the best interest to suspend the event.

Join us for a free screening and discussion of the Emmy-nominated PBS FRONTLINE documentary “Being Mortal.”

Based on the best-selling book by Dr. Atul Gawande, this film explores the hopes of patients and families facing terminal illness and their relationships with the doctors, nurses and family members who care for them.

See the film and be part of a national conversation taking place in our community that asks: “Have you and your family had these important conversations and planned ahead?”

After the screening, you can participate in a guided conversation on how to take concrete steps to identify and communicate wishes about end-of-life goals and preferences.

This two-hour program is approved for two (2) continuing education hours for nurses and social workers.

RSVP to Rachel at (218) 261-0017 by May 18. Food will be served.
