July 2021 Lunch & Learn: Effective Communication Strategies

Health care professionals are invited to Hospice of the Red River Valley’s upcoming Lunch and Learn as we continue to explore topics related to end-of-life care. Lunch and Learns are held on the second Tuesday of January, March, May, July, September and November from noon-1 p.m. Due to COVID-19, the events are held virtually.
The next session will be held Tuesday, July 13, from noon-1 p.m. Elizabeth Nawrot, community education volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association, will present “Effective Communication Strategies.“
This collaborative session will:
- Explain the communication changes that take place throughout the course of the disease,
- Decode the verbal and behavioral message delivered by someone with dementia and respond in ways that are helpful to the person,
- Identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.

Hospice of the Red River Valley is an approved provider of continuing education for social workers in North Dakota. This program will be awarded 1 contact hour.
This Lunch and Learn will be held virtually/online. Attendees will receive a link for the online meeting upon registration 24 hours prior to the presentation.
