Training: Being Mortal: The Whole Story

People often have priorities beyond living longer. How do you help guide your patients who are living with a serious illness? This presentation discusses an inescapable reality of life: death. Participants will watch the Emmy-nominated FRONTLINE documentary “Being Mortal.” After the screening, you will participate in a guided conversation on how to take concrete steps to identify and communicate wishes about end-of-life goals and preferences.

Intended Audience This activity is most appropriate for physicians, nurses, social workers, case managers, chaplains and others who routinely care for individuals with life-limiting illnesses.

Continuing Education This two-hour program is approved for two (2) continuing education hours for nurses and social workers.
