Palliative care can benefit people at any age or any stage of their chronic illness, and you may receive palliative care along with curative treatment. The focus of House Calls palliative consultations is to address pain and other symptoms on a consultative basis in collaboration with your primary care provider. Our clinicians are highly skilled in understanding the complex needs of patients with advanced illness and specialize in pain and symptom management.

Palliative care helps people who struggle with ongoing pain, distress, symptoms and side effects of treatment from any serious illness, which may include cancer, heart disease/congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), kidney disease, HIV/AIDS, chronic liver disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), dementia or Alzheimer’s, stroke or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

  • Symptom management, including pain, shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, constipation, fatigue, insomnia, depression/anxiety and other symptoms
  • Assistance with completion of an advance directive
