This educational activity clarifies the role of palliative and hospice care for residents living with a progressive, chronic illness. Participants will learn to recognize the disease-specific indicators and signs of decline which signify a resident is appropriate for palliative or hospice care. They will also learn how to incorporate palliative/hospice medicine into the care of residents and families who may benefit.
Intended Audience This activity is appropriate for nurses, social workers and case managers.
Continuing Education This one-hour program is approved for one (1) continuing education hour for nurses and social workers.
