To ensure the integrity of the program, all volunteers must meet specific criteria:
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to be matched with patients and families. Younger volunteers may provide assistance in the office setting.
Health and Safety
All volunteers must meet the health and safety standards for Hospice of the Red River Valley. Volunteers who will have patient contact must have a Mantoux (TB skin test). We offer the Hepatitis B vaccination to patient care volunteers as well, but it is not required. There is no cost to the volunteer for these tests or vaccinations.
Hospice of the Red River Valley requires a background check on all volunteers. There is no cost to the volunteer. Background checks must come back clear before an individual may begin volunteering.
