When grief enters our lives, our world changes. Let us help you cope with the change—and the grief. Just as every loss is unique, the grieving experience is different with each loss, and every individual grieves differently.
Our grief department includes professionally trained, compassionate grief specialists who provide support groups, one-on-one meetings and presentations. They also offer literature, resources and referrals, as needed, to help you cope with your grief and work toward healing.
Grief Support Services
Our grief program is a community resource available to anyone who has experienced a loss through death, whether they had hospice services or not. We provide services to families, individuals, schools, churches and workplaces. Our services are offered free of charge to adults, youth and families coping with the death of a loved one of any age.
If your loved one died while under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, you can receive grief support services, free of charge, for up to 13 months following a death.
Grief Classes & Workshops
We offer grief classes and workshops throughout the year covering a variety of topics for working through your grief journey. Classes are free. Pre-registration is required to attend classes and workshops. To view our upcoming grief classes, click here.
Grief Support Groups
Our support groups offer a safe and supportive environment for adults to share their experiences with loss and learn ways to heal from one another. Anyone who has lost a loved one through death may attend support groups offered at Hospice of the Red River Valley. Support groups are free. Completion of a grief support participation form is required to attend support groups. To view our grief support groups, click here.
Grief Support for Children & Teens
Children and teens who have experienced loss through death or a crisis situation require special attention and care. Hospice of the Red River Valley supports grieving children and teens through youth programming, such as school support groups, seasonal grief classes and one-on-one support provided by professional grief specialists.
Each Hospice of the Red River Valley office location includes a resource library. The library offers resources on a one-month loan basis, to help you understand and manage your grief and healing process.
We welcome the opportunity to help guide your journey from grief to hope. If you or a loved one needs grief support, please contact us.
