Common Conditions

Hospice is for anyone living with a life limiting illness that has a life expectancy of approximately six months or less, but it can be difficult to determine if someone’s health has reached a point when they could be eligible for hospice care. Additionally, different diseases have different signs and symptoms. Someone who has cancer has a very different experience and needs than someone with COPD or dementia.

Hospice of the Red River Valley provides services to individuals with any terminal diagnosis, at any age (including pediatric hospice care). The following are common conditions; click the condition to read more about the signs and symptoms of that condition that indicate someone may benefit from hospice services.
